Allan Hope Simpson

We wish to pay tribute to our dear friend, Allan Hope Simpson (writer, poet, musician).

After a long battle with cancer, Allan died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 29, 2012 in his 50th year. Dear son of Dick and Jenny, brother of David (Michele) and “Uncle Big Al” to Ian and Clara.  Allan was a poet, troubadour and passionate music and book lover. He was a long time member of the St. George’s Cathedral Choir and the Kingston Choral Society. Allan’s biggest joys were singing, playing his guitar and sharing time with friends.  He has written a number of poetry books, including Keeping a file on the cat.

At the annual Kingston, ON, Canada’s “Meet the Busker” Allan was  a 20 year+  rendezvous veteran.  He always impressed the crowds with his unique blend of folk and blues music.  He will be dearly missed.
